Tournament Program
The Vikings, Invaders, Barbarians, & Titans Family
SPBH hosts cadet, beaver, penguin, & chipmunk division co-ed teams that practice (almost) year round and compete in regional tournaments (and usually at least one out-of-state tournament). The teams were founded at South Hills Dek Hockey in 2014, and transitioned to the current nonprofit organization in 2023. In 2024, SPBH merged with McBride Dek Hockey and moved to McBride Park.

Meet the Teams
Our kids come from from neighborhoods all over south Pittsburgh, from the City of Pittsburgh throughout the South Hills & Mon Valley. Teams are co-ed, and supported by sponsors and fundraisers throughout the year. In addition to skills & sportsmanship, these kids and families also form tight bonds both on and off the dek.

2026 tryouts for the Vikings, Invaders, and Barbarians were held in Fall of 2025.

​​​Divisions are age-based and will depend on the player's age as of January 1st, 2026*.
Cadet Division: ages 13-15* (birth years 2010, 2011, 2012)
Beaver Division: ages 10-12* (birth years 2013, 2014, 2015)
Penguin Division: ages 7-9* (birth years 2016, 2017, 2018)
Chipmunk Division: ages 4-6* (birth years 2019, 2020, 2021) - Tryouts TBD

*Per the PBHL rules, girls are permitted to spend a bonus year in the next division down, should they choose. (Example: a 10 year old girl may opt to play in the penguin division; a 13 year old girl my opt to play in the beaver division.)
SPBH Board
South Pittsburgh Ball Hockey is lead by a volunteer board made up of parents. All funds raised through donations, league fees, and fundraisers go directly back to the kids to cover the costs of operations, tournament fees, or group bonding events.
